Commanders!
Today we are taking a closer look at the new Swiss-designed tank that makes its debut in World of Tanks. This Tier VIII medium tank will support the armoured arsenal of Germany and add a bit of novelty to the general gameplay of that particular nation. If you're into German mediums, you will find the Panzer 58 Mutz a truly interesting vehicle, as in many aspects, this Swiss bear overcomes the shortcomings that are typical for the machines under the Balkenkreuz banner.

As your engine has only a 12% chance of catching fire upon impact and being in a supporting role does not expose you to the heat of the frontline shell exchanges, it is a good idea to use Chocolate instead of the Fire Extinguisher. This way, you'll improve not only your tank's general performance but also your rate of fire. However, please remember that this consumable needs to be replenished after each battle, which means 20,000added to the post-battle bill every time you roll out.

The Panzer 58 Mutz is a very interesting vehicle, not just for the novelty of being Swiss or because it sports a custom paint job, but for its outstanding performance. The defining part of this vehicle is definitely its armament and what it can do in battle.
The 9 cm kanone at this tank's disposal is characterised by an outstanding penetration value of 212 mm with standard AP rounds. This means that it can penetrate pretty much everything in its Tier and most tanks that are 1-2 Tiers above it. Accuracy is rather average, but this is evened out with a good aiming time and a reasonable rate of fire. What makes it truly amazing, though, is the ability to raise and lower the gun to great angles. The Mutz can use most terrain to its advantage to surprise the enemy and aim at tanks that have the higher ground.
Another interesting feat of the Mutz is its speed. The tank can reach its top speed of 50 km/h relatively easy, so you can be sure that reaching strategically important points on the map before the enemy is definitely among the tank's capabilities. Provided that that point is reachable by driving in a straight line, that is. Despite its speed, the Mutz is rather clumsy and does not turn too well, especially while on the move. Therefore, it may not be the best choice for a dynamic platoon of medium tanks.
How do you make the tank work? If you have played the Indien-Panzer, then you should have a general idea of how to use it. The Mutz is very similar to handle, but with slightly better acceleration and gun control. Providing support is the name of the game for this tank. Claim good positions before the enemy, support your team's heavies from the flank, ambush your opponents, intercept scouts and go hull-down whenever possible - your turret is protected enough to ding a few shots, but your hull is a completely different story. Also, use your mobility to relocate between various points on the map, so that you can add your firepower wherever it is needed at the moment.
Important: please note, that due to the custom paint scheme, the Mutz is incapable of utilising any camouflage patterns, emblems and inscriptions. However, its camouflage value is appropriately increased from the get-go. This means that you will enjoy a permanent camo bonus on all maps, just as if you had all three types of camouflage applied.
Conclusion: The Panzer 58 Mutz is a solid support vehicle, that can provide effective fire support against any enemy and under any terrain conditions. Although its speed allows it to compete in securing strategically important positions on the map at the beginning of the battle, its bad turning and average armour prevent it from engaing in an aggressive playstyle. It's perfect for players who prefer a more sneaky approach and who wish to provide support from the second line.
The PZ. 58 Mutz naturally enjoys all the Premium tank bonuses, which means that every battle you get into with it will yield a better credit and XP income. The tank can also be used as a training platform for your German medium tank crews. Due to the fact that the tank's crew excludes Radio operators, the Mutz is the best option for players following the line leading to the Leopard 1, as vehicles from this branch share the same crew layout.
If you like German mediums and their playstyle, but rue their general lack of gun depression, you will definitely love the Mutz!
