AMX Cda 105 & KanJPz 105: What's the difference?

Now that the iconic AMX Canon d'assaut 105 is available in the Premium Shop, we thought about the German Kanonenjagdpanzer 105 and how similar they may seem. Today, we will shine a light on both tanks and see where the differences lie, and which of them you should go for depending on your preferences.

All values below correspond to a 100% trained crew.

Armament

You know it: the 105 in their names comes from the calibre of their gun. Both tank destroyers are packing the same punch, but the French hunter has a slight advantage in terms of reload time and accuracy. That said, its German counterpart will aim a split second faster and has a higher penetration power.

Mobility

To start off: don't be fooled by the KanJPz 105's lower power-to-weight ratio; the acceleration is good and pretty much on par with the French tank destroyer. Both are very agile overall, but you can clearly see that the German has the upper hand in this category. However, use this mobility to get to positions quickly and defend yourself from getting circled, should things get heated.

Survivability / Visibility

When it comes to resilience, both vehicles mainly rely on their mix of high camouflage value and view range. Both should be enhanced with a Camouflage Net and a Binocular Telescope. While the KanJPz is a bit stealthier, the AMX Canon d'assaut 105 will be able to use its sloped frontal armour and gun depression to create a bouncy angle. A serious advantage, but a difficult skill to master.

To Sum It Up

Kanonenjagdpanzer 105: with a focus on mobility and camouflage, this tank can sneak from one firing position to the other in no time. Pay attention to not get spotted, as you can't take much punishment. Take out even fast-moving vehicles with its accuracy and high shell velocity. A very dangerous sniper, indeed!
AMX Canon d'assaut 105: this tank is slightly less mobile and stealthy than its German competitor but still high. Find the best sniping spot possible, and if enemies get close, try and use your angled armour to deflect some shots or even push forward if the time is right! Overall a more forgiving vehicle than the KanJpz 105.
