The tank park of the French army was almost completely lost in battles or captured by the German. Reconstitution of the French armored troops began in North Africa in 1943. The Free French Forces were supplied with American tanks mainly."
French army was supplied mainly with American tanks (M24, M26, M46 and M47) during post War period. Nevertheless, French engineers and manufactures did their utmost to produce their own models of Tanks.
